1-2-1 Sensory Sessions

Carefully selected sensory-friendly activities designed to support your child's developmental needs

Sessions starting from $30

One-to-one sensory sessions are designed to provide rich sensory experiences that challenge your child’s sensory system and maximises their chance of success

Activity choice can be collaborated and incorporate the child’s individual interests. By creating a one-to-one setting, we can ensure the sensory experience is pitched at the correct level. This provides a safe  space to encourage engagement, comfort and physical safety.

Why Is Sensory Play So Beneficial For Children With Specific Learning Needs?

1

Sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore

2

The sensory activities allow children to refine their thresholds for different sensory information helping their brain to create stronger connections to process and respond to sensory information. It helps them to be able to tackle more complex learning tasks and problem solving

3

It can be used to support a child who is particularly fussy with eating or trying new foods. Sensory play literally helps shape what children believe to be safe in the brain which impacts on their choices of behaviour in turn

Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction. This type of play can help to calm an anxious mind, relieve stress and build positive relationships and social skills.

Sensory Play & ASD

Sensory play is ideal support for children living with ASD as it stimulates the brain, creating neural pathways and improving sensory processing systems. It Improves social skills such as communication and cooperation. Hands on activities help develop coordination, as well as fine/gross motor skills. Mindfulness sensory elements help to calm children down when they are agitated.

Throughout my teaching career I have worked with and alongside many children with ASD, developmental delay and visually impaired. Spending time with these children has given me the wonderful opportunity to witness how sensory based activities greatly benefited their development and built our working relationship to able success and achievements
